Here I have removed the trash compactor to
inspect what I have to work with to convert this to a pull out tash
bin.
Fig. 2
The customer
wanted to get as much space as possible for this
project. So in order to get the optimal space I will
have to cut the filler board on the left down a few
inches.
Fig. 3
The toe kick
and trim have been installed to take care of the open built for the
trash compactor. I have also installed heavy duty drawer slides that
will stand up to high
usage.
Fig. 4
I had a door
front made to face the front of the trash bin. In this case it will
look like a cabinet door only it will be a
drawer.
Fig. 5
Here is the trash bin. It is built to
have iether two 13 gallon trash cans or one trash can with trash
bag storage
area.
Fig. 6
I have
fasten the door front to the drawer and it
is closed all the way. I rechecke it for alignment and proper
spacing.
Fig. 7
Here the drawer is pulled out all the
way. The customer will paint it to match the rest of the
cabinets.
Fig. 8
The walls
of the trash bin are lower than the top of the can. I did this so the trash can does
not have to be removed to put the liner in the trash
can.
Fig. 9
After the
customer is finshed with painting it I will install the a drawer pull. I
would have it in now but they can't deside which one they
like.
