This garage was built by a
family member. Over all they did a great job. To save on money they
bought a door and used the rough opening for the door jamb. This is
not uncommon but it makes it hard when the door needs to be replaced
like this
one.

The rough
opening was about 2-1/4 inches to small. This meant I needed to cut
part of the stem wall and base
plate.

That also means I had to modify the header above the door.

Here is the new header. The back backer board is so
I can space the door out 1/2 inch to match the drywall on the
opposite
side.

I had to raise
the floor up to the garage floor level. There is a small trough in
the floor. I don't know why that was put
in.
